Festivals and events encourage communities to grow and prosper by attracting dollars in the form of tourism and in some cases, new industry.

Michigan Festivals & Events Association is a state-wide organization dedicated to promoting the interests of festivals, events, attractions, suppliers, and related tourism businesses by developing educational programs, services and networking opportunities that contribute to business success. MFEA has more than 850 organizations and individuals as members. The MFEA annual convention draws on average more than 800 participants. Over 2,000,000 hits were received on www.michiganfun.com website in July 2009.

The Michigan Historic Preservation Network advocates for Michigan's historic places to contribute to our economic vitality, sense of place and connection to the past. MHPN has 500 paid members and regularly communicates with 2,000 organizations and individuals. The annual statewide conference typically draws 350 participants.

Michigan Museums Association provides programs and services that enhance the growth and professionalism of the Michigan museum community and advocates on its behalf. Nearly 300 individuals and institutions are members of MMA. Each year, our programs, conference and special events serve hundreds in the Michigan museum community.
